Space travel day, family day at the Bochum Observatory

Under the motto “Adventure Space – Family Day & Retro Space Computer Event”, an event for the whole family will take place on March 29, 2025 at the Bochum Observatory as part of the “Space Day”.

There will be fun and interesting facts for young and old on Saturday, 29.03.2025 at the “Space Adventure Family Day”. From 10:30-17:00, visitors can embark on a journey of discovery around the radome of Bochum Observatory and immerse themselves in the world of astronomy, space travel and computer history.
Coincidentally, this is also Astronomy Day and there will also be a partial solar eclipse at noon, which can be observed under expert guidance at the observatory, weather permitting.
There is plenty for guests to discover at various painting, craft, experimentation and information stations. Adventurers of all ages can explore the Radom satellite ground station and its exhibitions on short guided tours.
We are also bringing the 80s and early 90s back to life on this day and inviting all computer enthusiasts – from kindergarten children to senior citizens – to a special kind of space event: the large lecture room will be transformed into a retro computer games paradise: Tell your children and grandchildren about your exciting youth, check their programming skills on the devices on display or simply relive your favorite games of yesteryear together… There is also limited space for bringing your own computers/consoles.
Finally, there is also a children’s flea market and a retro computer swap meet…
As you can see, there are many good reasons to visit Bochum Observatory!
