Bochum Space Day: March 28, 2026 – Space Day
February 21, 2026The program offers exciting lectures, a live link to Antarctica and the ESERO family research event in the radome of the Bochum Observatory.
Several special events are coming up: On Saturday, March 28, 2026, the Germany-wide Space Day will take place. AMSAT-DL and the Bochum Observatory already successfully participated last year as part of the ESERO Germany education office. The Day of Astronomy will also be celebrated at the same time. For this occasion, we have decided to participate with a varied program of interesting short talks and presentations on the topics of space travel, astronomy, STEM education and amateur radio.
At the same time, an ESERO family day will take place on this day from 11 am to 5 pm in and around the radome of Bochum Observatory under the motto “Adventure Space”: Fun & interesting facts for young and old await visitors; they can embark on a journey of discovery and immerse themselves in the world of astronomy and space travel.
There is plenty for guests to discover at various painting, craft, experimentation and information stations. Adventurers of all ages can explore the Radom satellite ground station and its exhibitions on short guided tours.
The final schedule has not yet been finalized, but this overview already shows what visitors can look forward to. The lecture program is suitable for all space fans:

Note for members: The AMSAT-DL general meeting will not take place at HAM RADIO, but in Bochum in late fall; date to follow.
A futureGEO community workshop will take place at HAM RADIO 2026 in Friedrichshafen, to which all QO-100 users are cordially invited. This event offers ideal preparation for the QO100 user meeting on the same evening. At the same time, we want to use the expertise of all participants to successfully further develop the futureGEO project on behalf of ESA.
